Depending on each patients' sensitivity level and their oral hygiene care, proper treatments depend on each patient's conditions.

Ways to treat sensitive teeth are as follows:
1.Filling or scaling of receded gums, in order to cover up the
receding gums to prevent further gum erosion and stop teeth
  sensitivity from occurring.
2.User of sensitive toothpastes. Toothpastes that contain
strontium chloride or potassium nitrate can help desensitize the
  tooth nerve and ease comfort.
3.Mouthwash containing fluoride mouthwash. Treating teeth with
fluoride mouthwash also can help prevent and reduce tooth
  sensitivity.
4.Oxalate compounds. Application of oxalate compounds onto the
root of our teeth, will reduce if not eliminate the sensitivity.
5.Bonding agents. Use of bonding agents to close the pores of
  the tooth root.

To note, highly acidic foods (such as citrus, soda pop, tea) can increase sensitivity and work against the sensitivity toothpaste, mouthwashes, and bonding agents.
